In May, 2026, we were invited to Hội An to run a 2 day soil regeneration workshop with Harmony Alternative, a “world schooling” organization which aimed to created diverse and practical educational experiences for homeschooling children who travelled the world with their families.

Being in Hội An, we decided to focus on soil regeneration, riverbank restoration and flooding prevention. We guided the children on the basics of soil formation, and discussed the reasons for increased erosion and top soil loss in the area.

We also focused on the broader impacts of human-induced flooding in the region, and explored ways which local people are working with nature to prevent further damage to the soil.
