In October 2023, the Đom Đóm team ran 4 separate full day workshops at our farm in Hòa Bình for both English speaking and Vietnamese speaking groups. The idea was to create a simple, practical and hands on day-course which covered the basic techniques of Natural Farming such as propagating Indigenous Microorganisms (IMO), making compost, making a liquid fertilizer and preparing a vegetable bed according to these methods.

All the techniques practiced during the course required little to know cost, and used basic and easily available materials. The reason being is that we believe that soil regeneration does not require purchasing expensive materials, fancy equipment or lab-grown microbial inputs. Maintaining soil fertility should be the work of farmers and those who work in the fields, and so these practices must be easily accessible to all.
